You do not need to be connected to the internet via WiFi, you just have to have WiFi enabled on your device (and able to see available WiFi networks). You can still be connected to the internet via an ethernet cable and have WiFi on at the same time.
You must have a wifi adapter on your computer to be able to use that device on our site.
